I’m S-M, a french football fan who travel through different European forums to realize a survey about the French Football.

My theme is "the french football view by Europe". I prepared 10 questions about this, I thanks you in advance to your answers.

Yes, it became less interesting

The obvious fact that soccer seems to be no french Passion.

No. Casillas, Courtois, Neuer, Cech, Buffon

8- The coming of players like Ibrahimovic or Falcao has changed your view of France's championship ?

It has become less balanced, restricted to two teams, from which one in particular has no fan tradition at all

9-What is missing in Ligue 1 to become a major championship ?

The obvious fact that soccer seems to be no french Passion. Can't say it better.

10- Who is the best French player of all time ?

Zidane.

6th, behind Spain, England, Germany, Italy and the country the other guys here forgot - Portugal

Probably no, but I can't say for sure, since I don't know every goalie's abilities. If I would have to write down a Top 5, it would probably include Casillas, although he doesn't even make it to number 1 at Madrid. Neuer and Cech are certainly in the Top 5, but after that there may be a number of goalies who could claim to be top 5 on their day.

3- What is the biggest French club of history ?

Olympique Marseille, I guess

4- Who are the 3 best french players currently ?

Ribery, Benzema... Is Evra still as good as he used to be?

5- Follow you France's championship ? (What team?)

No.

6-What team do you prefer ?

None, really. If any, then Auxerre, since I liked how long they were coached by Guy Roux.

7- Far will France team in the World Cup ? ~ When will stop France team in World Cup ? (Group : Honduras, Switzerland and Ecuador)

Surviving the group should be easy, but I think France will be knocked out in the round of 16, either by Argentina or Nigeria.

8- The coming of players like Ibrahimovic or Falcao has changed your view of France's championship ?

It means that there is more money going around in french football than it used to do. The more money, the better the chances of having any success in European club competitions, so some of those bigger spending clubs have to be taken more seriously, since they might become proper title contenders some day.

9-What is missing in Ligue 1 to become a major championship ?

Very interesting question. Maybe only money and titles? Or, if not titles, at least coming close to titles. Was Monaco's CL final 2004 the last finals appearance of any french club?

10- Who is the best French player of all time ?

Zidane. Platini is a football-destroying asshole.

I'm surprised you said Zidane. Usually we choose our heroes when we are (relatively) young (and thus more open to be impressed and influenced by them than in older age), and as you were the right age when Platini was one of the world's best players, I had guessed that you would see him as the best French player ever. Zidane is the right choice, though - obviously.

Well, I would name Platini just behind Zidane. Actually, in 1984 he was even more important for the final victory than Zidane in 1998, but 1998 was a World Cup.

6-What team do you prefer ?
After this, I find EA Guingamp pretty cool.

EDIT: I just found out that this was a hoax. Seems like the pictures were from a farmer's protest rally in 2009. But since it seems that the hoax was started by Guingamp's official twitter account, I find the club even cooler now.
