Discuss the World Cup in South Africa here!

What do you think are the favorite teams to win the World Cup in South Africa, which (young) player will become a superstar, which teams will suprise most?

Well, the favorite teams will be the all-time-favorites.
That's Italy, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, England and the Netherlands.

I think Spain and the netherlands are the huge favorites this year.
I cipher England and Germany are the secret favorites.
Brazil and Argentina couldn't have any chances on the title.

Of course, the superstars mostly nations are injured. That's crazy.

I think they actually have very good chances to win the title.

Well, it's just 4 nations out of 32: Ghana (Essien), Ballack (Germany), Drogba (Ivory Coast) and Robben (Netherlands), and the last two still have chances to participate. And why "of course"? :gruebel:

Dear Sir Aiden, neither B. nor A. have less resp. more chances to win the title than the other 30 countries. Each match begins at 0-0 and till Friday no single goal will have been kicked.
By the way, have a look at my signature right down, i guess, you will be able to translate that.

It means a kind of sarcasm, I suppose :weißnich: He is angry, as well as we are too. A world championship without some of the best players is no longer fully valid. :(

    We will see, mate.

You're right. But some players are "superstars" for their team, too.
    Bosingwa, the defender-star from Portugal..
    Rio Ferdinant from England...
    Andrea Pirlo from Italy...
    John Obi Mikel from Nigeria..
    Nani from Portugal...

They're all superstars for their teams.

It was really sarcasm. Don't be worry. ;)

    You nitpicker. :D
New Zealand and Honduras have got the same chances like Spain ant the netherlands? :gruebel:
    It isn't my mind, sorry.

    Oldschool is just oldschool.
Only you know meeeeeheeeee. *robbie williams is singing* :D
Its's a joke. You're right. That was sarcasm.

I'd put money on Nicklas Bendtner making his international breakthrough on a world stage. He may not be the best footballer skill-wise, but he's got that strikers instinct; his goal per game ratio is very good for his age. For me, Denmark might well be the surprise team of the tournament. Furthermore, I'm hoping for Robin van Persie to show everybody what he can do when he's fit and on a good run of form. The guy is world class and much underappreciated, especially outside of the EPL.

I think Spain & Brasil play in the Final. Germany could play in Final-4. Maybe Final...
